After 40 years of public service, culminating in my role as CEO of NHS Scotland, I can bring to bear experience of executive leadership, advising on complex and politically contested issues, and being held to account in public. Working across the private, public and third sectors, I also have deep understanding of leading on civil contingencies and resilience at times of national crisis. My experience also covers people leadership and development, financial management of a multi-billion budget, and digital.
With a current portfolio spanning academia, the private sector and the third sector, I specialise in senior counsel and leadership development with an aptitude for simplifying the most difficult and complex issues. I offer perspective and insight, however sensitive and intractable the issue may appear.
Outside work you will find me occupied with my church and my family, and trying to improve my very limited photography skills.
