    Biography

    Greenspon was born and raised in Montreal and moved to Ottawa in ; he became a civil libertarian before commencing his legal work.[3]

    Greenspon is an associate in the Ottawa firm Greenspon Granger Hill, practising both criminal defence and civil litigation.[4] He has been involved in the defence of a number of high-profile cases.[5][6][7][8] In August , Senator Mike Duffy announced that he would sue the Senate of Canada and the RCMP for $8 million in lost income and general damages because of his suspension, for which he was acquitted, and hired Greenspon to represent him.[9] The lawsuit was dismissed in due to parliamentary privilege.     Edward Greenspon (born March 26, ) is a Canadian journalist who was Editor-in-Chief of The Globe and Mail newspaper and President of the Public Policy Forum think tank. He joined Bloomberg News in January as Editor-at-Large for Canada after four years as vice president of strategic investments for Star Media Group, a division of Torstar Corp. and publisher of the Toronto Star. Before that, he was the editor-in-chief of The Globe and Mail newspaper, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for seven years. In , he assumed the position at a turning point in the paper's history, and, during his tenure, he instituted several sectional revamps, launched new web sites and maintained circulation levels. On May 25, , he was replaced by John Stackhouse.[1]
